Hexagon star pillow

This is the first quilting I've done in years! The design is based on the Giant Star Pillow design from Tacha Bruecher's wonderful book on English paper piecing, Hexa Go-Go.

The star design is made using EPP in colours to compliment my living room decor, then machine-appliqued onto the black background. I added a checkered border and red binding. The pillow has an envelope closing and measures 24" square.

I'm rather pleased with the end result. It's a start! I think for my next project I will try some more ambitious applique or machine piecing.
